Leaving the Port looking toward our hotel. On the way to a Wreck and reef dive.

Huge Mexican Flag!

Two Pirate ships which offer entertainment and dinner cruises!

Thanks To Jason Dare for these pictures of the Wreck and Reef Dive!

The Next Day!

Cenote / Cavern Dive!

After about an hour drive south, past Talum, we arrived at the Tank Refill shop. Man! What a nice setup. Right in the middle of the jungle!

Then just a short distance more we arrived at the Chac-Mool Cenote.

Our Professional Cave Dive master, Alex, led us down the steep stone path and into the beautiful waters below.

Don't let the nasty/green/stagnant looking water fool you. It's just leaves and junk from plants around the hole setting on top of Crystal clear water! Once you drop below the surface it was unbelievable!

Alex Videoed and took still pictures of us all the way.

Thanks Alex for such a memorable 2 dives.!

 The DARK SIDE!

Almost like Carlsbad Caverns but underwater!

There are places you can surface inside the caves, Breathe! Talk! But turn out your light and your blind as a bat. The only light is the glow on your gauges!

Most the way there are holes in the ceiling letting in light, so it's very comfortable. But on the Dark Side there are a lot less holes. The Warm Salt Water / Cold Fresh Water don't mix Causing a Halocline! Its very disorienting Very blurry Like looking through baby oil, or oil and Vinegar . It's only a few feet deep but in some places you swim through 20-30 feet where it's on and off, depending on your depth. When I swam past the Warning Sign above, I couldn't read a bit of it... But when the picture was taken it was clear!

The Survivors!!!

Thanks again to Alex for filming and taking the pictures. I have never experienced such a wonderful, safe and comfortable dive, in such a scary place!
